Fall is in the air and the pumpkins are in the patch! The conditions were stacked against success but the determination was strong!

This Redfish was lookin good in
it’s fall colors!

The seasons strongest cold front, with post front strong northernly & easterly winds, high water and even poor water clarity made last weeks coastal trip a challenge. But the temps were mild and the sun was shining.

This Redfish was in a pod of happy Redfish waving their tails at us.

One for the record books! 🦬 That’s a big Ol’ Smallmouth Buffalo!

Even though it’s hot outside, the fishing is even hotter 🔥. Buffalo for everyone.

I first met Will & his wife Jordan at a boat ramp parking lot 4-5 years ago down on the Lower Colorado river. When I was invited to their new place up in North Texas last week, I was beyond excited to hear of their new guide operation. They were excited to hear I also had moved to North TX.

Fly fishing connects the people, finding old connections and making new ones.

Btw, it was 9 plus hours into our day before I said sure let’s go catch some rough fish. Glad I did! Keep an eye out on my IG, Bass pictures are up next!

Glenn and his family traveled from New Mexico to catch warm water species on a walk & wade trip. He said all New Mexico has are trout streams. 🤣. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!

Glenn is a Fisheries Biologist and enjoys catching Bass on the fly rod.

He introduced his family to their first warm water fly fishing trip. Five species were caught yesterday all on topwater flys.

Consistent water flows on the Brazos River this past week. There definitely was advantages to all of the spring rains North Texas received. The water temps are running between 69-71 degrees due to the releases coming out of lower pipes on the lakes dams.

Eric came down from Missouri to experience the Bass fishing on the Brazos this week.

The Bass were looking up, topwater fun! Both the Largemouth & Spotted Bass call the Brazos home. 🐟

Had the pleasure of spending a day on the river with Michael just west of Fort Worth. Michael ties some awesome flies to feed the fish with.

North Texas has been getting 🪣 ‘s of rain over the last 6 weeks. Keeping me off the river unfortunately. Good news is there is no shortage of water going into Summer 2024. 💦 We finally had a consistent river flow and took advantage of it mid week.

A great variety of fish were caught. And some fish who didn’t want their photo taken.

It was a slow morning, however the fish started eating during and after the totality.
